SLOW DOWN! It's okay to rest.
My dear friend Peachy the cat = me this weekend. Utterly exhausted. After a few weeks of beautiful people, places and grand adventures, my body and spirit finally said, “Can you SLOW THE F DOWN and let me process now?” So I slept. I cried a lot. I danced. I cleaned my house because honoring my physical space keeps me grounded. I binge-watched RuPaul’s Drag Race because I needed to be reminded of the power that lies in boldly and courageously living in my truth. New York is filled with the pressure of what every one else is doing. Distractions. Noise. Blarg. I’ve said it before, I know. It’s so tempting to get side-tracked from what you deeply know your body and mind really needs. Really listening to your needs and honoring them — that’s not being selfish. That’s living into what your soul is telling you it needs to operate at its best, so that you can share your best with others. Sometimes our souls communicate with us through our physical bodies (*cough cough* “I am sick”), and sometimes through signs (“whoa, did I see 3 doves today?”) ...if we’re looking and listening for them. Pay attention, don’t avoid what you’re feeling to be true, and get 40 hours of sleep in 2 days if you need it... then write down your weird dreams and get funky with it 🤙👀👽
